Effectively Communicating Behavioural Concerns to Parents - (EDUCATORS SESSION)

DKM Psychology is hosting an information session aimed to support educators towards effectively communicating behavioral concerns to parents. These conversations can cause a lot of angst for both parents and educators so we want to highlight the importance of open, honest, and respectful communication, as well as the significance of building trust and collaboration between educators and parents.

Our presents will guide educators through the process of preparing for and structuring conversations with parents, focusing on gathering relevant information, setting clear objectives, and using non-judgmental language. Effective communication strategies such as active listening and empathetic communication are discussed in order to facilitate productive discussions, as well as how to handle challenging situations with sensitivity and professionalism, including managing emotional responses and maintaining a collaborative problem-solving approach.

Additionally, how to approach follow-up and ongoing support is presented.

Overall, the session aims to equip educators with practical tools and insights to effectively communicate behavioral concerns to parents, fostering collaboration and support in addressing children's behavioral needs.

Refreshments, resources, and friendly support is provided.

This is strictly a child-free event, to allow for open discussion.
