SARAH BURNS

Sarah is a Provisional Psychologist, completing her Masters in Clinical Psychology. She has experience in private practice providing counselling and diagnostic assessment for children, adolescents, and adults. She is also experienced in the mental health outreach space, where the focus has been assisting people to build their capacity and strengthen their protective factors.

Sarah splits her time between the DKM Coburg clinic and one of our partnering primary schools.

Please note that for all clients aged 17 and younger, a parent session is required as the initial appointment. This allows Sarah to obtain developmental history of the client and to understand the presenting concerns from a parent's perspective.

Teenage clients can attend the initial session but this will be split into two halves; first half parent and Sarah and second half client/client and parent with Sarah.

Therapy Style

Sarah utilises a warm, authentic style of therapy with a person-centred focus. I draw mostly from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, and enjoy working collaboratively with clients to work towards their goals and develop their coping abilities.

Fees

The fee to see Sarah for therapeutic intervention is $90 per session. As she is a provisional psychologist her fee does not attract a Medicare rebate. Assessments attract different fees.
