FATIMA ZAHRA
Fatima is a Provisional Psychologist currently completing her postgraduate training in psychology. She has experience working across a range of mental health settings, supporting children, adolescents, and adults with diverse presentations. Fatima values creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive therapeutic environment for people from diverse backgrounds.
Fatima has conducted comprehensive assessments including ADHD, Autism, and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), and is skilled in integrating assessment findings into meaningful, practical recommendations for clients and families. She has experience delivering evidence-based interventions, drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches. Fatima works collaboratively with clients to build insight, strengthen coping strategies, and support long-term wellbeing.
Fatima is available for individual therapy, and diagnostic assessment (including ADHD, Autism) for children, adolescents, and adults. She splits her placement across our Coburg practice and one of our affiliated schools.
Please note that for all clients aged 17 and younger, a parent session is required as the initial appointment. This allows Fatima to obtain developmental history of the client and to understand the presenting concerns from a parent's perspective.
Teenage clients can attend the initial session but this will be split into two halves; first half parent and Fatima and second half client/client and parent with Fatima.
