Mel Kubat
(she/her)
APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE FROM WEEK STARTING 21ST JULY.
Mel is a provisional psychologist, completing her final year in the Master of Clinical Psychology program at Latrobe University. She works collaboratively with clients to address various presenting concerns and aims to support them reach their treatment goals.
Mel is available for individual therapy, and diagnostic assessment (ADHD, Autism) for children, adolescents, and adults. She splits her placement across our Coburg practice and one of our affiliated schools.
Please note that for all clients aged 17 and younger, a parent session is required as the initial appointment. This allows Mel to obtain developmental history of the client and to understand the presenting concerns from a parent's perspective.
Teenage clients can attend the initial session but this will be split into two halves; first half parent and Mel and second half client/client and parent with Mel.

Therapy Style
Mel aims to create a warm, curious, and non-judgmental therapeutic space where we can collaboratively explore the concerns or goals that brought you to therapy. My approach is client-centred, trauma-informed, and neuro-affirming, drawing on evidence-based frameworks including CBT, ACT, DBT, and Schema Therapy. I also integrate mindfulness, emotion-focused, and compassion-focused strategies. In working together, I hope to support you in building insight and resilience, improving wellbeing, and gently challenging patterns that may no longer serve you.
Fees
The fee to see Mel for therapeutic intervention is $60 per session. As she is a provisional psychologist her fee does not attract a Medicare rebate. Assessments attract different fees.
